Day 1: Ha Noi - Son La
|
Pick up at the hotel and head toward Hoa Binh province and pass through a region of spectacular limestone mountains, passes, valleys and wind our way down hills to Mai Chau valley of Thai people, the road to Son La is lined with fruit orchards, tea plantations, towering mountains. We will have a chance to meet and talk to the black Thai, white Thai, H'Mong and Muong hill tribe people on their ways to work or local markets. In the afternoon, we visit the Prison Museum in Son La, which remains as a poignant reminder of the inequities of the former French colonial rule. Overnight at the hotel in Son La.

Day 2: Son La - Dien Bien Phu ( B,L )
|
Check out and drive the more impressive the mountain scenery, we will visit the villages and meet more tribal people here along our journey to Dien Bien Phu City. Our lunch is served at the restaurant in Tuan Giao. Continue onto Dien Bien, enjoy the wonderful scenery in Pha Din Pass. Dien Bien Phu - the last base of the French power in Indochina, we will visit monuments, museums...and preserved bunkers tell the story of the final and victorious liberating battle of 1954. We are free to explore nightlife in this remote mountain city. Ovenight at the hotel in Dien Bien Phu.

Day 3: Dien Bien Phu - Muong Lay ( B )
|
With about 6 - 7 hours today, our drive is sometimes steep and often rugged, the roadthrough the Lai Chau valley is both breathtaking and dramatic, hugging rice terraced mountainsides and fording turbulent rivers, our roads travel are visually spectacular. On this day we will see the most beautiful hill tribes in Northern of Vietnam such as H'Mong, Black Thai, Black Dzao, Pazi. Stay overnight at the hotel in Dien Bien Phu.

Day 4: Muong Lay - Sapa ( B )
|
A short time to walk around this peaceful town and the market before hitting the road up hills as we wind through Tram Ton pass, the highest mountain pass in Viet Nam. As rewarded, we will have the magnificent views of the great mountains, passes and valleys and experience a dramatic change of climate as we mount approaching Sapa - an old French hill station, a busy market town for the regional minority groups, the town is encircled with towering peaks, often shrouded in cloud, and the air is cool and crisp. Check into the hotel and rest. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 5: Sapa - Bac Ha ( B )
|
Walk to Bac Ha market. Visit one village and an old building called the H'Mong king's house. We also visit a big market filled with many different hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colourful market in the North of Vietnam. At the Bac Ha market, we have a chance to enjoy the unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches... talking to the minorities through the guide's interpretation. Leave the market for the H'Mong King's house ( King Hoang A Tuong ) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. In the afternoon, we explore Ban Ho village. On the way return to Sapa, we will see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbour Mouth in Lao Cai. Reach Sapa late in the afternoon. Check into the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa - Ha Noi ( B,L )
|
After breakfast, transfer to Ha Noi via Viet Tri City for lunch at the restaurant. Arrive in Ha Noi City and end of the trip at the hotel.
