Meet at your hotel in Hue City and take a boat trip cruising on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the Citadel – the palaces of the Nguyen Dynasty ( 1802 – 1945 ), the last dynasty of Vietnam – Noon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, Imperial Ancestral Temple and Royal Antiques Museum.
We will then drive to the countryside passing the rice fields to Thanh Toan bridge which has Chinese and Japanese features, with a rare squared timber arch speckled with ancient ceramics and is reputed to have been built in the time of Emperor Le Hien Tong in the mid 18th century. Tran Thi Dao, the wife of one of the emperor’s high ranking courtiers grew up in the area.
After lunch, we drive to Thuy bieu village to visit Long Chau temple, locally it is known as Voi Re, the “ Palace of the crying Elephant “. Th e site is located about 200 meters from an arena Ho Quyen, where elephants and tigers dueled to the death. In the end of the day, we visit Khai Dinh Tomb, Tu Duc Tomb, conical hat making and incense stick making village. Trip ends at your hotel.
